Meet our team

Mr Sinclair – Headteacher 

Mr Sinclair is the Headteacher of Benton House School and brings a deep commitment to providing exceptional, personalised education for every pupil. With a background in special and inclusive education, he leads with a strong belief that meaningful learning happens when relationships, wellbeing, and high expectations work hand in hand.

Under his leadership, Benton House continues to grow as a nurturing and ambitious community where pupils are supported to achieve both academically and personally. He is passionate about developing a culture where everyone’s contribution is valued — from pupils and families to staff and wider professionals — ensuring the school’s vision is lived out in every classroom and interaction.

He is particularly focused on integrating education, therapy, and care to prepare pupils for fulfilling, independent futures, while celebrating the individuality and potential of each young person.

Mr Tweddle – Deputy Headteacher 

(Designated Safeguarding Lead, Quality of Education Lead)

Mr Tweddle is the Deputy Headteacher at Benton House School and plays a key role in driving consistency, quality, and safeguarding across the school. With a strong background in behaviour, welfare, and inclusive practice, he ensures that systems and strategies work effectively to support pupils’ day-to-day success. Mr Tweddle is deeply committed to developing staff confidence and collaboration, helping to create a calm, purposeful environment where pupils can flourish both academically and emotionally.

Mr Mason – Assistant Headteacher

(Personal Development & Careers Lead)

Mr Mason is the Assistant Headteacher at Benton House School, leading on careers, personal development, and the enrichment curriculum. With experience across both outstanding SEMH and mainstream settings, he has a proven track record of driving meaningful change in curriculum design and improving outcomes for pupils. Mr Mason is deeply committed to mentoring and supporting new staff, helping them develop confidence and consistency in their practice. Known for his ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils who are often hardest to reach, his calm and supportive approach helps every young person feel understood, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Mrs Worthington – SENDCo

(SEND Provision & Quality of Education)

Mrs Worthington is the SENDCo at Benton House School, leading the strategic development of SEND provision and ensuring that pupils’ EHCP outcomes are at the heart of every decision made. She oversees the coordination of interventions and targeted support, using data and multidisciplinary insight to track progress and refine practice. Mrs Worthington plays a central role in driving Benton House’s integrated model of education, therapy, and pastoral care — ensuring that every pupil’s support plan reflects both their academic and holistic needs.

Mr Graham – Pastoral and Family Manager

(Behaviour & Attitudes Lead)

Mr Graham is the Pastoral and Family Manager at Benton House School, leading on wellbeing, behaviour, and family engagement. With extensive experience in supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs, he has a deep understanding of the functions of behaviour and the importance of learning from each pupil’s individual experiences. Mr Graham applies this insight to implement effective, evidence-based strategies that improve engagement, emotional regulation, and long-term outcomes. His calm, relational approach helps pupils build resilience and independence, preparing them with the confidence and life skills needed for adulthood.
