We were visited by DaveBeSafe who gave a Keeping Young People Safe Workshop
Our pupils recently took part in a workshop focused on staying safe, making positive choices, and understanding consequences. Through discussions and role play, they explored key issues including online safety, social media risks, age-appropriate gaming, and the law.
The session highlighted the serious consequences of violence, including knife crime and “one punch” incidents, and reinforced that carrying a weapon does not keep you safe. Pupils also learned about joint enterprise, how young people are held responsible for their actions, and how exploitation can occur through county lines and online grooming.
Practical demonstrations, including scam awareness and real-life scenarios, helped students understand how to recognise risk, protect themselves, and seek help.
The key message throughout was clear: make safe choices, think ahead, and speak to a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right.
